Ingredients

For the lemonade
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups frozen strawberries about 225 to 300 g, unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup fresh Meyer lemon juice about 120 ml
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar about 50 g, plus more to taste

Method

  1. Combine the frozen strawberries, fresh Meyer lemon juice, and granulated sugar in a blender jar.
  2. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and no large berry chunks remain.
  3. If the blender struggles, add cold water in small splashes until the ingredients purée easily and reach your desired consistency.
  4. Taste the lemonade and blend in additional sugar a teaspoon at a time if you prefer it sweeter.

Notes

Use ripe, unsweetened frozen strawberries for the brightest flavor.
If you prefer a thinner texture, add cold water 1 tablespoon at a time until it reaches your desired sipping consistency.
For a tangier drink, use regular lemons instead of Meyer lemons, or add an extra splash of lemon juice.
Leftover lemonade can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days; stir well before serving.
To make ahead, freeze the puree in an ice cube tray and blend the cubes with a little water when ready to serve.
Do not overfill the blender; blend in batches if needed to avoid straining the motor.
Serve immediately in chilled glasses with a strawberry garnish for a pretty summer presentation.
